Spiced Bergamot is bottled as a 50 ml eau de parfum with close to 20% fragrance oil. It costs an affordable €25, the same price on every scent we make. Free shipping kicks in from €49, and delivery runs 2 to 5 working days.

Christian Dior sells the original designer scent as its own Elixir concentration, denser than a typical eau de toilette and closer to an intense eau de parfum. Spiced Bergamot is built as an eau de parfum to match that same Elixir weight, without going as heavy as an extrait de parfum. It sits among our stronger fragrances, the ones built for cold weather rather than a light everyday spray.

Longevity is 6 to 9 hours with strong initial projection. The oils are French, the filling is done by hand, and nothing is tested on animals. You have 15 days to exchange it if it isn't right for you.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Spiced Bergamot is our perfume dupe of Sauvage Elixir by Dior, made for men who want that same warm, spicy scent without hunting down the original bottle. It opens on a cinnamon and cardamom accord lifted by nutmeg and grapefruit, moves into a single lavender heart, and settles into liquorice, sandalwood, amber, patchouli and vetiver.

The spice sits right at the front from the first spray, before the grapefruit brightens things up and the lavender heart calms it down. The liquorice and sandalwood in the base give it a sweet, woody finish that smells like the original up close. Projection is strong for the first couple of hours and the sillage settles from there, though it's still noticeable well into the evening. If you have read a review of the real Sauvage Elixir, that same spicy lavender trail is what this dupe is chasing.

I like it more than the original. Let me explain. The fresh, recognizable component is just like the OG, they nailed the mid and drydown. The opening is different, and it lacks that cloying, obnoxious Liquorice/Coffee element that i hate about the OG. I would say the trail, and silage is the same, upclose smelling the skin might reveal differences.

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.
