🇫🇷 French Perfumes!😶‍🌫 Long Lasting and Intense Scents!👍 Fraction of the Cost of Designer Fragrances

PRODUCT DETAILS

Victory is an eau de parfum, 50 ml, with roughly 20% fragrance oil. It is €25, like every other scent we make, no matter which original it follows. Free shipping starts at €49 and delivery takes 2 to 5 working days.

Giorgio Armani sells Code at the same concentration, and Victory matches it rather than going for something lighter. The oils are French and blended to our own recipe rather than bought in as a ready-made base.

Longevity runs 6 to 9 hours on skin, with the base notes carrying it into the evening. Handmade, vegan and cruelty free. Fifteen days to swap Victory for something else if it does not suit you.

NOTES

Top notes

Lemon, bergamot

Heart notes

Star anise, olive blossom, guaiac wood

Base notes

Leather, tonka bean, tobacco

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Victory is our perfume dupe of Giorgio Armani Code, made for anyone who wants that warm, spicy signature scent without hunting down the exact original bottle every time. It opens on lemon and bergamot, moves into star anise, olive blossom and guaiac wood, then settles into leather, tonka bean and tobacco.

The citrus opening is short and gives way quickly to the spice, which is where the character of the fragrance really sits. By the base, the tonka bean softens what could otherwise turn harsh, leaving something warmer and more grown-up. It reads more like a night out than an office fragrance, and it wears that way from the first spray.

Victory holds its own among the perfumes and fragrances built around this same spicy-woody idea. The heart notes carry that spice down into the base notes, and those middle notes are what keep it intense rather than subtle. It is a spicy signature scent, not a quiet one, and it stands up next to designer perfumes built on the same idea.

Perfume concentration

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

How a perfume is measured

Longevity, projection and sillage

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

01

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

02

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

03

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.

Victory

Inspired by: Black Code, Armani

Victory works best from autumn through winter, when the spicy leather base has cold air to hold onto, though it still wears fine on a summer night out.

Giorgio Armani built Code as a men's fragrance, and Victory keeps that focus, made for him rather than marketed as unisex or for her. It is aimed at men who want spice without sweetness: clearly masculine, intense enough for an evening, but never so loud that it fills a room. If you already know Code, the star anise gives Victory away within a spray or two.

Choose our Inspiration

Giorgio Armani is an Italian luxury house better known for tailoring than for perfume, though Armani Code became one of the fragrances that changed that, closer to the niche end of the brand's output than the mainstream line. It launched in the early 2000s and is still one of the brand's most recognised bottles, alongside newer releases in the same line.

Most people just call it Armani Code rather than using the full Giorgio Armani name every time. It's the star anise opening that most alternative and clone brands are trying to match, and it still shows up in every roundup of designer scents worth a dupe, where one review after another lands on that same spicy signature.

Why choose us?

Victory is our alternative to Giorgio Armani Code, similar to the original rather than an exact clone, made to our own recipe and filled by hand in small batches like the rest of our perfumes.

We only make it as an eau de parfum, because a lighter version would lose the depth this kind of spicy accord needs. If a second opinion helps, there is a review section further down this page. If it doesn't smell close enough to what you remember, send it back within 15 days and we will exchange it.
