🇫🇷 French Perfumes!😶‍🌫 Long Lasting and Intense Scents!👍 Fraction of the Cost of Designer Fragrances

PRODUCT DETAILS

Skylume is an eau de parfum, 50 ml, with around 20% fragrance oil. We charge €25 for it, the same as for anything else on the shelf. Free shipping applies from €49, and delivery runs 2 to 5 working days.

Mugler sells Angel as an eau de parfum too, so Skylume matches that concentration, denser than an eau de toilette and close to a full extrait de parfum in how much it projects. It is a fragrance built for impact, inspired by the way the original projects rather than by anything that fades quietly into the background.

Longevity is 10 to 14 hours, with very strong projection for the first few hours. The oils are French, the filling is done by hand, and nothing is tested on animals. Fifteen days to swap Skylume for something else if it does not suit you.

NOTES

Top notes

Cotton candy, coconut, melon, jasmine, bergamot, pineapple, mandarin

Heart notes

Honey, red berries, plum, peach, orchid, rose

Base notes

Patchouli, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, tonka, amber, musk

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Skylume is our perfume dupe of Angel by Mugler, made for anyone drawn to that famous gourmand character as an everyday scent rather than something saved for special occasions. Cotton candy, coconut, melon, jasmine, bergamot, pineapple and mandarin open it, honey, red berries, plum, peach, orchid and rose carry the heart, and it settles into patchouli, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, tonka, amber and musk.

Angel has always smelled like a candy shop crossed with a patchouli forest, and Skylume follows it there: sweet and edible up top, then deep and almost bitter underneath once the patchouli takes hold. It is a lot of fragrance, unapologetically so, and the sillage carries a room the way the original always has. This fragrance dupe of Mugler Angel keeps that reputation intact, and it is one of the boldest gourmand fragrances we make.

Perfume concentration

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

How a perfume is measured

Longevity, projection and sillage

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

01

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

02

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

03

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.

Skylume

Inspired by: Angel, Mugler

Skylume works all year, but it comes into its own from autumn into winter, when its dense gourmand character has cold air to cut through, though a light hand keeps it wearable on summer evenings too.

It is too much for most office settings at full strength, but it owns an evening out. Skylume is built as a feminine, women's fragrance, closer to a signature scent than something you rotate daily, and it reads far more feminine than masculine. It is not marketed as unisex, though plenty of men wear gourmand fragrances like this one when the mood calls for it. Angel is the reference point people reach for with other gourmand perfumes, and Skylume was inspired by that original Angel character from day one.

Choose our Inspiration

Mugler is a French designer house that reshaped how gourmand perfumery is talked about, and Angel is the fragrance most people mention first when the brand comes up, sitting somewhere between mainstream and niche in how devoted its following is.

Most people just say Angel rather than the full Mugler name, and it stays a defining scent for her within the luxury tier of French perfumery, a gourmand accord that is unmistakable even from a distance. Our version keeps that character in a bottle you can wear on a Tuesday rather than save for one night a year.

Read any review of Mugler Angel and the same words come up: patchouli, chocolate, sweetness that borders on too much. The middle notes of honey and red berries are what most perfumes and fragrances inspired by it try to capture, and every dupe or clone built around this gourmand traces back to that same original.

Why choose us?

Skylume is our alternative to the Mugler Angel original. It is our own blend, built to smell like Angel and made with French fragrance oils, filled by hand in small batches.

We only make it as an eau de parfum, because that is where this kind of dense, gourmand composition sits best. If it is not similar to what you remember, send it back within 15 days and we will swap it. We kept coming back to Angel itself as the benchmark, since the patchouli and chocolate balance is the part that has to be right. The whole blend is inspired by that original rather than by a rough approximation of it, the same as with the other gourmand fragrances we make.
