🇫🇷 French Perfumes!😶‍🌫 Long Lasting and Intense Scents!👍 Fraction of the Cost of Designer Fragrances

PRODUCT DETAILS

Wild Bergamot is an eau de parfum, 50 ml, with around 20% fragrance oil. It costs €25, the same as every fragrance we make. Free shipping from €49, delivery in 2 to 5 working days.

Sauvage exists as an eau de toilette, an eau de parfum and a parfum, which is why people argue about which one they smelled. Ours follows the eau de parfum reading of the original, denser than the eau de toilette most shops stock, and well above a light eau de cologne, which would fade before lunch on a fragrance built this dry. It reads as a proper alternative to Sauvage rather than a token spray.

Longevity is 5 to 10 hours. Made with French fragrance oils, hand filled, vegan and cruelty free. If Wild Bergamot is not what you expected, you have 15 days to exchange it.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Wild Bergamot is our perfume dupe of Dior Sauvage, probably the most worn masculine fragrance of the last decade. Calabrian bergamot and pepper open it, the heart runs through Sichuan pepper, lavender, pink pepper, vetiver, patchouli, geranium and elemi, and ambroxan, cedar and labdanum sit underneath.

What makes it recognisable is the ambroxan: clean, slightly metallic, and impossible to mistake once you know it. The bergamot up front is bright and short lived, and the middle notes stay dry and mineral rather than sweet, which is what carries that character right through to the base.

Wild Bergamot sits alongside our other Dior Sauvage perfume dupes, but it isn't a stripped-down clone: it's our own read on the accord, built so the first spray smells like Sauvage rather than a vague approximation of the original. That is the only test a fragrance dupe really has to pass, and the reason most dupes fall short.

It really smells like the original, maybe is too soft so I’m probably buying the extract

Refreshing and unique, definitely worth purchasing again.

I think this cologne has its own identity rather than being like sauvage. However it is GREAT. Longevity for the eau de parfum is 7+ hours on my skin. Love this scent and you can’t beat the price.

a refreshing aroma that I heard about on Reddit and occasionally wear to boost my mood.

This perfume delivers on quality without breaking the bank, making it a great value for money purchase.

Perfume concentration

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

How a perfume is measured

Longevity, projection and sillage

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

01

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

02

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

03

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.

Wild bergamot

Inspired by: Sauvage, Dior

All year, and genuinely all occasions. It is the safest thing we sell, in the sense that almost nobody dislikes it.

Office, gym bag, dinner, first date. One spray in the morning is enough, and the trail stays close after the first couple of hours.

Summer wear stays fresh because the bergamot carries most of the opening, and winter gives the ambroxan base more cold air to sit in, so both ends of the year work in its favour, which is rare for a fragrance this dry. Men reach for it as an everyday masculine pick, and plenty of women wear it too, so it is comfortable for him or for her and close enough to unisex that the question rarely comes up.

Choose our Inspiration

Dior is a French house, and Sauvage launched in 2015 with a campaign that made it inescapable. It has since become the reference point people use to describe other fragrances.

Hardly anyone searches the full name. It is simply Sauvage, and half the time people spell it Savage.

Christian Dior sits at the top end of designer perfumery, closer to luxury than niche, and Sauvage is the release that keeps the house's name in every conversation about modern scents for men. Read a review of the original and ambroxan is still what gets pointed at as the signature, which is exactly the accord this dupe is chasing. Dior Sauvage remains one of the most searched fragrances among designer scents, and every Dior Sauvage alternative on the market, ours included, gets measured against it.

Why choose us?

Wild Bergamot is our alternative to Sauvage: our own blend built around the same bergamot and ambroxan idea, made with French fragrance oils and filled by hand.

We make it as an eau de parfum only. If it does not smell similar to what you had in mind, send it back within 15 days and we will exchange it.

It is an affordable way into that ambroxan idea, handmade in small batches rather than mass produced, and built for men and women who just want something that works. We are not chasing a one to one clone of Dior's original, just a fragrance close enough that nobody stops to ask. It is one of the plainest, most wearable perfumes we make, and among the fragrances in the range the least likely to start an argument.
