🇫🇷 French Perfumes!😶‍🌫 Long Lasting and Intense Scents!👍 Fraction of the Cost of Designer Fragrances

PRODUCT DETAILS

Bandit comes as a 50 ml eau de parfum, built at roughly 20% fragrance oil. We charge €25 for it, the same as for anything else on the shelf. Free shipping starts at €49, and delivery runs 2 to 5 working days.

Carolina Herrera sells Bad Boy as an eau de parfum, so Bandit matches that concentration rather than a lighter eau de toilette. That is part of why the pepper and cocoa come through as strongly as they do.

Longevity is 5 to 10 hours. French fragrance oils, vegan throughout, and handmade in small batches from start to finish rather than mass produced. You have 15 days to exchange Bandit if it misses the mark.

NOTES

Top notes

White pepper, pink pepper, bergamot

Heart notes

Cedarwood, sage

Base notes

Tonka bean, cocoa

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Bandit is our fragrance dupe of Bad Boy by Carolina Herrera, made for men who want that spicy, dark edge in something they can wear every day. It opens on white pepper, pink pepper and bergamot, the middle notes are cedarwood and sage, and it settles on tonka bean and cocoa.

The double pepper opening is the part everyone recognises, sharp and a little electric rather than warm. Give it half an hour and the sage and cedarwood take over, turning it dry and aromatic, before the tonka bean and cocoa pull it into a warm, slightly sweet base. Projection is strong through the first couple of hours, then it settles closer to the skin, though the trail stays with you into the evening.

Bandit is for people who already like Bad Boy and want a luxury-leaning scent for everyday wear. Some would call this kind of match a clone; we call it an alternative, because it is our own recipe rather than someone else's formula. It stays affordable without cutting corners on the pepper-cedar accord that makes the original recognisable.

Perfume concentration

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

How a perfume is measured

Longevity, projection and sillage

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

01

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

02

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

03

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.

Bandit

Inspired by: Bad Boy, Carolina Herrera

Bandit works all year, but it comes into its own from autumn into winter, when the sage and cocoa base has something to hold onto. In summer it still reads sharp because of the pepper up top, so one spray in the morning is usually enough.

Carolina Herrera markets Bad Boy as a masculine fragrance and Bandit keeps that character, with the double pepper opening reading bold rather than soft. If you are shopping for him, it is a safe pick for a night out, and the dry sage heart keeps it wearable at the office. It is not off limits to women either: if she prefers a spicier profile to something soft and feminine, it works just as well as a gift for her. For couples who would rather share one bottle, we make unisex blends elsewhere in the range.

Choose our Inspiration

Carolina Herrera is a Spanish-Venezuelan fashion and perfume house, and Bad Boy launched in 2019, created by perfumers Quentin Bisch and Louise Turner. It quickly became one of the house's signature men's fragrances, known for its lightning-bolt bottle almost as much as for the scent itself.

It sits closer to designer than niche, sold through most major fragrance retailers rather than small independent counters, and it is the fragrance behind most of the Bad Boy dupes on the market. People who know it say it smells like a sharp double pepper hit that settles into something warmer, which is close to the truth. Read any review of Bad Boy and the pepper opening is what gets mentioned first.

Why choose us?

Bandit is our alternative to Carolina Herrera's Bad Boy. It is our own blend, built to be similar to the original and made with French fragrance oils, filled by hand in small batches rather than run through a factory line.

We only make it as an eau de parfum, because a lighter concentration would lose the pepper too quickly. If it is not similar to what you remember from the original, send it back within 15 days and we will swap it.
