PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Chance of Love is our perfume dupe of Chance, built for women who love a fresh, floral signature and want to wear it without a second thought. It opens on pink pepper, lemon and pineapple, settles into a hyacinth and jasmine heart with iris underneath, and finishes on patchouli, vetiver, white musk and vanilla.

The pink pepper and pineapple keep the first hour bright and a little sparkling, then the hyacinth-jasmine accord takes over and the drydown turns soft and slightly powdery. It reads as feminine and easy to wear, the kind of scent you can spray in the morning and forget about until someone asks what you're wearing. If you already know Chance and want something that smells like it for every day, this is our take on it.

Chance of Love is one of our most requested perfume dupes, and among fragrance dupe searches for Chance it's the version people call the closest clone, an affordable alternative built to work as a daily fragrance rather than a special-occasion splurge. Some perfumers group the hyacinth-jasmine stage as the middle notes rather than the heart, which is where the floral signature really takes shape.

Perfume concentration

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

How a perfume is measured

Longevity, projection and sillage

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

01

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

02

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

03

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.

Chance of Love

Inspired by: Chance

Chance of Love works well year-round, though it comes alive most in warmer weather when the pink pepper and pineapple opening has room to breathe. It suits an office day just as easily as an evening out, since the sillage stays close to the skin rather than filling a room.

One spray in the morning usually carries the floral heart through most of the day, and the drydown lingers gently into the evening without turning heavy. Most people wear it as a feminine, everyday fragrance for her, equally at home layered under a coat in winter or on bare skin in summer, though it isn't strictly a unisex scent and a smaller number of men do wear it for him as a lighter, more masculine layer under something else.

Choose our Inspiration

The original, simply called Chance, was released in 2003 and quickly became one of the defining women's fragrances of its decade. It comes from a major French luxury house better known for ready-to-wear than perfume, and Chance was one of the releases that changed that. It's one of the designer perfumes that niche and luxury fragrance writers still review as a benchmark floral, and the scent most other Chance-inspired perfumes get compared against.

Over the years it grew into a small family of flankers, from the lighter eau fraiche to the sweeter eau tendre, though the name on its own still points to the richer eau de parfum most people picture first. In shops and online you'll usually see it shortened to just Chance.

Why choose us?

Chance of Love is our perfume dupe of that original, built to capture the same fresh, floral character with French fragrance oils and handmade filling in small batches. If you love the designer original and want something similar to reach for on an ordinary day, this is our take on it. Like every one of our fragrances, it stays affordable without cutting into quality.

We only make it as an eau de parfum, since that concentration holds the pink pepper and pineapple opening best against the softer, powdery base. If it doesn't smell close enough to what you remember, you have 15 days to exchange it.
