🇫🇷 French Perfumes!😶‍🌫 Long Lasting and Intense Scents!👍 Fraction of the Cost of Designer Fragrances

PRODUCT DETAILS

Arabian Night is an eau de parfum, 50 ml, with around 20% fragrance oil. €25 buys it, and that is our price for every fragrance in the range. Free shipping starts at €49; delivery takes 2 to 5 working days, and we always aim for the faster end of that delivery window.

Penhaligon's sells Halfeti as an eau de parfum too, and Arabian Night matches that concentration, denser than an eau de toilette and short of a full extrait de parfum, so it carries the same weight on skin.

Longevity is 8 to 12 hours, with strong projection early on before it settles closer to the skin. The oils are French, the filling is done by hand, and nothing is tested on animals. If Arabian Night is not what you expected, you have 15 days to exchange it. Read any review of Halfeti and the honeyed, smoky oud is what people describe most, which is exactly the profile this fragrance is inspired by.

NOTES

Top notes

Heart notes

Rose, nutmeg, jasmine

Base notes

Oud, cedar, leather, sandalwood, amber, tonka

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Arabian Night is our perfume dupe of Halfeti by Penhaligon's, a fragrance inspired by the dark, spiced oud character of the original without hunting down the bottle itself. Cypress, saffron, cardamom, bergamot and grapefruit open it, rose, nutmeg and jasmine carry the middle notes stage, and it dries down into oud, cedar, leather, sandalwood, amber and tonka.

This alternative smells like a warm, spiced study rather than anything sweet or fruity, closer to leather and incense than flowers, built as one continuous spiced oud accord. The citrus and spice fade fast, then the rose and jasmine soften the oud and leather just enough to keep it wearable, and the tonka and amber round it off with a soft finish.

Arabian Night is a long lasting fragrance built to sit close to the skin after the first couple of hours, and it stays long lasting well into the evening without needing a top-up. Some call this kind of match a clone, others just want an oud fragrance inspired by their favourite niche perfumes; either way, this is one of our spiced fragrances made for exactly that.

Perfume concentration

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

How a perfume is measured

Longevity, projection and sillage

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

01

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

02

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

03

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.

Arabian Night

Inspired by: Halfeti, Penhaligon's

Halfeti works best from autumn through winter, when a dark, spiced oud scent has cold air to cut through, though it holds up fine on a cool summer evening too, when a heavier fragrance still feels appropriate.

It leans too heavy for most office settings but suits evenings out easily. Both men and women wear it, closer to unisex than strictly masculine or feminine, so it works just as well as a scent for him or for her. Arabian Night sits alongside our other aromatic fragrances, all inspired by the same idea that oud does not have to be intimidating to wear daily.

Choose our Inspiration

Penhaligon's is a British house that sits somewhere between designer recognition and niche perfumery, and Halfeti has become one of its most talked about releases, the kind of house scent people bring up when the brand comes up in conversation. Halfeti itself draws on centuries of Middle Eastern perfumery, inspired by the oud and spice traditions that shaped some of the world's most recognised perfumes.

Most people just say Halfeti rather than the full Penhaligon's name, and it remains one of the most searched perfume dupes in the spiced oud category, alongside better known names from the same luxury house. Our version keeps it affordable enough to wear on a regular day, not just save for one night out.

Why choose us?

Arabian Night is our alternative to the Penhaligon's Halfeti original. It is our own blend, built to smell like the original and made with French fragrance oils, filled by hand in small batches.

We only make it as an eau de parfum, because that is where this kind of dense, spiced oud composition sits best, the same way we handle every one of our oud-leaning fragrances. If it is not similar to what you remember, send it back within 15 days and we will swap it.
