🇫🇷 French Perfumes!😶‍🌫 Long Lasting and Intense Scents!👍 Fraction of the Cost of Designer Fragrances

PRODUCT DETAILS

Athens is an eau de parfum, 50 ml, with roughly 20% fragrance oil. It costs €25, an affordable everyday price and the same as every other bottle we make. Free shipping starts at €49, and delivery takes 2 to 5 working days.

Xerjoff sells Naxos as an eau de parfum too, so Athens sits at the same strength, denser than an eau de toilette or an eau de cologne, though not as heavy as an extrait de parfum.

Longevity runs roughly 5 to 8 hours, and the honey-tobacco accord gives it real sillage through the first couple of hours. Made with French fragrance oils, hand filled, vegan and cruelty free. Not for you? Athens can be exchanged within 15 days.

NOTES

Top notes

Lavender, bergamot, lemon

Heart notes

Honey, cinnamon, cashmeran, jasmine sambac

Base notes

Tobacco leaf, vanilla, tonka bean

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Athens is our perfume dupe of Xerjoff Naxos, for anyone who wants that honeyed, tobacco-warm Mediterranean scent without hunting down a bottle of the original. It opens on lavender, bergamot and lemon; the middle notes bring honey, cinnamon, cashmeran and jasmine sambac; and it settles into tobacco leaf, vanilla and tonka bean.

The first spray is crisp and citrus-led, almost sharp. Within twenty minutes the honey and spice move forward and the fragrance turns golden and a little sweet, then the tobacco and tonka bean take over for a dry-down that reads warm, smoky and slightly powdery rather than gourmand. If you already know what Naxos smells like on skin, Athens should feel familiar from the first minute.

Perfume concentration

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

How a perfume is measured

Longevity, projection and sillage

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

01

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

02

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

03

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.

Athens

Inspired by: Naxos, Xerjoff

Athens works best from late spring through summer, when the lavender and citrus opening has room to breathe, though the tobacco and tonka base carry it into autumn and winter evenings just as well. One spray is usually enough for daytime; two if you are heading out for the evening.

Xerjoff markets Naxos as unisex, and Athens follows the same idea. The honey and jasmine sambac read a touch feminine, while the tobacco leaf and cashmeran pull it back toward masculine, so it lands the same way on men and women. Whether you are choosing it for him or for her, it suits the office as easily as dinner out, as long as you keep the first spray light.

Choose our Inspiration

Xerjoff is an Italian luxury perfume house from Turin, known for pairing rich materials with a strong sense of place. Naxos arrived in 2015 as part of the XJ 1861 line and is now one of the house's best-known names, mentioned in the same breath as the bigger niche and designer fragrances. Xerjoff perfumes tend to be built around one dominant material, and Naxos is the clearest example of that.

Hardly anyone says the full name. On forums and in reviews it gets shortened to Naxos, and it is one of the perfumes that most perfume dupes and clones are chasing. Read any review of the original and honey, tobacco and citrus are the three words that keep coming up.

Why choose us?

Athens is our fragrance dupe of Xerjoff Naxos, our own blend rather than someone else's formula, built to get close to that honeyed tobacco character with French fragrance oils and filled by hand in small batches.

As an alternative to Naxos we only make it as an eau de parfum, since that concentration suits the sweetness and warmth of this accord better than something lighter would. If it does not smell similar to what you remember from Naxos, you have 15 days to send it back for an exchange.
