🇫🇷 French Perfumes!😶‍🌫 Long Lasting and Intense Scents!👍 Fraction of the Cost of Designer Fragrances

PRODUCT DETAILS

Madam Feather is an eau de parfum, 50 ml, with around 20% fragrance oil. It costs €25, the same as every other scent in the range. Free shipping switches on at €49, with delivery landing in 2 to 5 working days.

Coco Mademoiselle is sold as an eau de parfum and an eau de toilette, and Madam Feather matches the richer of the two: denser than the toilette version, without going as heavy as an extrait de parfum. It is an affordable everyday take on that concentration.

Longevity is 6 to 9 hours. French oils, small batches, filled by hand, vegan and cruelty free, the same as all our fragrances. You have 15 days to exchange Madam Feather if it misses the mark.

NOTES

Top notes

Orange, bergamot

Heart notes

Jasmine, rose, lychee

Base notes

Patchouli, vetiver, tonka, vanilla, musk

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Madam Feather is our perfume dupe of Coco Mademoiselle, a fragrance made for women who love that citrus-and-jasmine opening and want a bottle they can reach for every morning. It opens on orange and bergamot, the middle notes bring jasmine, rose and lychee, and it settles into patchouli, vetiver, tonka, vanilla and musk.

The first few minutes are bright and a little sharp, more fruit basket than florist. Then the jasmine and rose take over and the whole thing turns soft, floral and elegant. By the time the patchouli and musk arrive it has gone warm and slightly sweet, the kind of drydown that lingers on a scarf long after you have left the room.

Of all the perfume dupes we make, this is the one where the opening does the most work: get the first minutes of the fragrance right and the rest follows. That is where we spent our time.

Perfume concentration

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

How a perfume is measured

Longevity, projection and sillage

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

01

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

02

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

03

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.

Madam Feather

Inspired by: Coco Mademoiselle

Madam Feather works well year-round, brighter in spring and summer because of the citrus top, and warmer once the patchouli and musk take over into autumn and winter evenings. It is one of the easiest fragrances in the range to wear daily, and one spray in the morning usually carries through a full day at the office.

It is built as a feminine fragrance for her, the kind of thing Coco Mademoiselle fans reach for when they want to feel put together without trying too hard. It goes as easily into a work bag as into an evening clutch, which also makes it an easy gift. A few men wear it too, so unisex is not a stretch, though it sits closer to a designer classic than to anything masculine.

Choose our Inspiration

The house behind Coco Mademoiselle is a French fashion name known for tailoring long before its fragrances became just as famous, and this is one of its most recognised, released in the early 2000s. It sits firmly at the luxury end of designer perfumes rather than in niche perfumery, built around a fruity floral accord that felt modern next to the older, heavier classics from the same house.

Read any review of the original and the jasmine is what gets named first. Most people just say Coco Mademoiselle rather than reaching for the full name, and that shorthand is what anyone searching for a clone or a fragrance dupe types in, alongside dozens of other perfumes chasing the same citrus-jasmine opening.

Why choose us?

Madam Feather is our alternative to Coco Mademoiselle, and one of the closest fragrances to it we make. It is our own blend, made with French fragrance oils and filled by hand in small batches, built to sit as near the original as we can get, which for a fragrance like this comes down to the opening notes.

We only make it as an eau de parfum, because that is where this fruity floral holds its shape; anything lighter and the base notes give up before the evening does. If it is not similar to what you remember, send it back within 15 days and we will swap it.
