Oudly satisfied is an eau de parfum, 50 ml, made with roughly 20% French fragrance oil, handmade in small batches, vegan and cruelty free. Tom Ford sells Tobacco Oud at eau de parfum strength, and ours keeps that intensity rather than softening it. On skin the concentration carries real weight, closer to an extrait de parfum in density than to a light spray you would have to top up through the day.

Longevity runs 6 to 10 hours, with strong projection at first that settles closer to the skin after a couple of hours. You have 15 days to exchange it if it turns out not to be your scent.

Oudly satisfied is our perfume dupe of Tom Ford Tobacco Oud, made for anyone who loves that dense, boozy warmth and wants to wear it on an ordinary weekday rather than save it for special occasions. It opens on whiskey, moves through spices, cinnamon and coriander, then settles into tobacco, oud, incense, sandalwood, patchouli, benzoin, vanilla and cedar.

The whiskey and tobacco accord is what most people notice first, a dark, slightly sweet warmth that reads more like a drink than a typical fragrance opening. After the first ten minutes the spice moves forward, and from there oud and incense carry the rest of the wear, thick and faintly smoky without tipping into ashtray territory.

The cinnamon and coriander run right through the middle notes, which is why the spice never disappears under the oud. As a fragrance dupe this is one of the closer things we make: it smells like the original from the first spray rather than fading into something generic after ten minutes.

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

Oudly satisfied is a cold-weather fragrance more than anything else, at its best from October through the darkest part of winter, when a boozy, smoky scent has somewhere to go. It carries into early spring, but once the weather properly warms up it turns heavy, and in summer it is too much for daytime, which is true of most oud fragrances built this densely.

Evenings suit it best, whether that means a night out or working late at a desk with the heating on. Tom Ford built the original as a unisex release and that holds here too: men and women both wear it, closer to a shared, masculine-leaning warmth than to anything strictly feminine.
