Homme Intense was launched in 2011; building on the foundation of Homme (2005), François Demachy took the signature powdery iris DNA and took up the richness, adding a smooth blend of vanilla, cedar, and amber. This resulted in a refined, seductive, and undeniably elegant fragrance.
At the time, mainstream men’s fragrances were still leaning hard into fresh, aquatic, and spicy territory. Dior Homme Intense did something different: it embraced florals, proving that iris could be just as bold and masculine as leather or tobacco.
Over the years, Dior Homme Intense has been reformulated slightly. Still, it has remained a favorite for those who appreciate a powdery, woody, and slightly sweet scent. Its influence is undeniable; many niche and designer brands have since tried to capture that same magic.

The iris and violet hit strong, powdery but not old-school, softened by the bergamot and a bit of cardamom that keeps it from getting too sweet. Then, the heart kicks in.
