New World is an eau de parfum, 50 ml, with around 20% fragrance oil. The price is €25, same as everything else we make, which keeps a designer-style fragrance affordable without cutting the fragrance oil percentage. Free shipping from €49, delivery in 2 to 5 working days.

Nouveau Monde is sold as an eau de parfum, and ours matches that concentration rather than a lighter eau de toilette.

Longevity is 5 to 10 hours, long lasting by any measure. Made with French fragrance oils, filled by hand, vegan and never tested on animals. Not for you? New World can be exchanged within 15 days, and it goes out on the same delivery schedule as every other one of our perfumes.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

New World is our perfume dupe of Nouveau Monde by Louis Vuitton, a heavy oud and cocoa composition made for cold weather. Oud, leather and blackcurrant open it, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, rose and saffron fill the middle, and amberwood, incense and patchouli close it.

The cocoa is dry rather than sweet, and the leather keeps everything on the serious side. It is one of the stronger scents we make: projection lasts hours and the trail is easy to notice.

If you already know the Louis Vuitton Nouveau Monde original, New World smells like that same dry oud-cocoa accord from the first spray and stays similar to it long after it settles. It is one of the more intense perfume dupes we sell, built for anyone who wants a fragrance with real weight rather than one of the lighter fragrances that fill most shelves.

EDT, EDP or EXDP - what you are actually buying

The difference between these labels is not quality but how much perfume oil sits in the bottle. That decides how long the scent stays on your skin and how far it travels.

EDT Eau de Toilette 5 to 15% perfume oil

The lightest of the three. It opens fresh and fast, but fades after three to five hours. Pleasant in heat and at the office, as long as you top it up during the day.

Our choiceEDP Eau de Parfum ~20% perfume oil

The middle ground that became the standard. It lasts six to eight hours, one spray in the morning is enough, and the scent stays recognisable into the evening without filling the room.

EXDP Extrait de Parfum 20 to 40% perfume oil

The densest form, worn in drops, and it can last over ten hours. In return it loses that easy opening, and the price per bottle climbs the most.

Why we chose EDP

Every Chez Pierre perfume is made in Eau de Parfum concentration, with 20% perfume oil. That is not by accident.

An eau de toilette would mean carrying the bottle with you and refreshing the scent after lunch. An extrait would push the price up, and only someone counting hours would notice the gain. EDP sits exactly in between: one spray in the morning carries the whole working day, and the scent opens and develops instead of settling on the skin at once.

So we don't make lighter and pricier versions of the same scent. We make one, in the concentration where that scent works best.

Three things describe every perfume, whatever the price or the name on the bottle. Once you separate them, it is easier to say what you actually want from a scent.

Longevity

How many hours the scent stays on skin

Measured from the moment you spray to the moment you can no longer smell it up close. It depends on the concentration, but also on your skin: on dry skin every perfume lasts less, so a dab of unscented cream before spraying helps.

Projection

How far it travels around you

Strongest in the first hour, it tells you how much space the scent takes up. Big projection is great for evenings and colder days, while at the office or in a meeting it usually gets in the way more than it helps.

Sillage

The trail you leave behind

Pronounced „see-yazh“, it means the trail a scent leaves behind you. It is the reason someone turns around as you pass. A perfume can last a long time and still leave a small trail, and the other way round.

Strong is not the same as good. A perfume with huge projection quickly tires both you and the people around you, while one without any trail stays your own private thing.

That is why every one of our perfume descriptions says how it wears, not only how it smells.

Winter, evening, and a coat rather than a shirt. In summer heat the oud and cocoa become too much for most people.

Half a spray is a real instruction here, not a figure of speech. It is worn mostly by men, though the rose and saffron mean it is not strictly masculine, and one spray is usually where men stop because it carries so far.

Women who like a stronger, darker fragrance wear it too, so this leans closer to unisex than most designer perfumes sold strictly as feminine or masculine fragrances.

Choose our Inspiration

Louis Vuitton is a French luxury house that started making fragrances again in 2016, and Nouveau Monde belongs to that collection. Jacques Cavallier signed it, and it is the oud entry in a line that otherwise leans light.

Searches usually pair the name with the house, since Nouveau Monde on its own means something else entirely.

Among niche and designer perfumes built around a heavier oud style, the original turns up in more or less every review of Louis Vuitton's line, and it stays one of the fragrances people search for by name rather than by note, which is why the dupes exist at all. That is rare for a fragrance this dense.
