Scent Profile
The opening hits with a bright citrus punch. Bergamot, mandarin, and orange give it a sharp, almost fizzy energy, but the thyme and Litsea Cubeba (which, if you haven’t smelled before, is like a lemony herbal scent) keep it from feeling like a standard fresh scent. It’s zesty and more like a spiced citrus.
Then it takes a turn with the middle notes. The clove and incense make it almost church-like, but not in a traditional way, more like an old, dimly lit study filled with antique books and a lingering scent of burnt resin. There’s a deep, almost sticky warmth from the ciste, and the leather here is rich, smooth, and just a little animalic.
Patchouli gives it that earthy depth, but what really stands out is the mix of white musk, amber, and tonka bean. It’s warm, slightly sweet, but still dark and brooding.
