Daylight is bottled as a 50 ml eau de parfum with close to 20% fragrance oil. It costs an affordable €25, the same as every other scent in the range. Free shipping on any order from €49, and delivery lands in 2 to 5 working days.

Dylan Blue is sold as an eau de parfum, so Daylight matches that concentration. It sits denser than an eau de toilette, without going as heavy as an extrait de parfum.

Longevity is 6 to 9 hours. French fragrance oils, hand filled in small batches, vegan throughout. Not for you? Daylight can be exchanged within 15 days.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Daylight is our perfume dupe of Versace Dylan Blue, made for men who love that clean, salty-fresh citrus opening and want to wear it every day. The top notes are bergamot, grapefruit, fig leaves and a splash of something marine; the middle notes bring violet leaf, black pepper, papyrus wood, ambroxan and patchouli; and it settles into mineral musk, tonka beans, saffron and incense.

The grapefruit and bergamot hit first, sharp and a little salty, before the violet and pepper soften things into something greener and spicier. By the drydown the musk, tonka and ambroxan take over and the whole thing turns warm and slightly sweet, closer to the skin than the bright opening suggested. Among fresh citrus fragrances that is unusual: most of them lose the early sharpness on the way to the base, and this one keeps a trace of it.

Daylight works best from spring through summer, when the citrus opening has room to breathe, though the musk and tonka base carry it into cooler days too. One spray in the morning is usually enough for a full working day.

It is built as a masculine scent for him and reads that way on most men, clean rather than heavy, the kind of fragrance you can put on without thinking about it. It suits the office as easily as a night out, and among fresh men's perfumes it holds its own without turning sharp or synthetic. It is also one of the easier perfumes in the range to wear from morning through to the evening.
